Test to Release: Official provider
From 15 December 2020, arrivals to the UK have been able to use the ‘Test to Release’ programme to reduce the self-isolation period after international travel. We have worked hard to make sure that both our COVID-19 multiplex qRT-PCR Kit and our service facility meet the performance requirements for this test, so that as our customer you can qualify as a provider for this programme. Find out more about the government requirements for Test to Release providers.
Detects all known SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) variants
Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants have been hitting the headlines, but rest assured, the overall sensitivity and accuracy of our VirPath Multiplex qRT-PCR test has not been impacted by recently discovered variants.
We continually monitor the public genomic databases for all new variants, so our customers can always be confident of our product performance.
High throughput service facility with capacity to undertake up to 10,000 COVID-19 qRT-PCR tests per day
For test providers looking for laboratory processing, our high throughput service facility ensures results are delivered quickly and efficiently.

VirPath – Bead Xtract Viral DNA/RNA Extraction kit:
This extraction kit is designed for the rapid and reliable isolation of viral DNA or RNA from nasopharyngeal swabs or other biofluids. The magnetic bead-based technology enables the purification of high-quality ribonucleic acid free from protein and other impurities required for downstream qRT-PCR. Fast, low cost and easily scaled up or down, the VirPath Bead Xtract Viral DNA/RNA extraction kit is ideally suited to SARS-CoV-2 testing.
VirPath - SARS-CoV-2 Multiplex qRT-PCR kit:
This multiplex qRT-PCR kit uses a combination of the best performing proven CDC and WHO assays and targets the nucleocapsid gene (assay N1), the envelope gene (assay E) of SARS-CoV-2 and the RPP30 gene (assay RP) used as an internal RNA extraction control. This qRT-PCR kit is suitable for customers with 3, 4 or 5 colour systems and is provided with both positive and negative controls.
