The recent ESHG 2024 event in Berlin provided us with a great opportunity to meet up with new and existing contacts from across Europe.
Our global customer base includes major healthcare providers, universities, hospitals and research centres across the continent, so it was great to hear more about the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare professionals involved in genetic testing across Europe.
As a UK-headquartered company, we were pleased to be able to dispel some myths that have cropped up in recent years – including some around the challenges of sending samples across the continent.
Sending material to the UK
Crucially, extracted DNA or RNA is not classed as biological material under Category A/B regulation, so it is really simple to send your samples on ice to the UK and across Europe.
Fast TAT for providers across Europe
When working with our customers across Europe, our turnaround time can be as little as two weeks, depending on the service required, which can be quicker than more local providers.
International quality standards
In addition, although our quality standards are accredited in the UK, they meet international standards for quality and competence. Our Hereditary Cancer Susceptibility Service is ISO 15189:2012 accredited and we adhere to the highest standards of quality throughout our operations.
Pay in your currency
Alongside the clinical and quality challenges labs are facing, we know the admin side can also be a challenge when working across borders. That is why we can bill in Euros, making it easier for European health professionals to benefit from our streamlined services.
Global research services
We are proud to offer a comprehensive set of sequencing services for research use.

- Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) – Highly scalable and flexible packages, with inputs from as little as 10 ng gDNA and built-in error suppression.
- RNA-sequencing services – High-precision RNA sequencing services, Total RNA (human/mouse/rat) and 3’ RNA selection, with RIN values 1.5-10 (as appropriate).
- Tumour profiling – Targeted next generation sequencing (NGS) solution to quickly and easily profile common genes associated with cancer, using solid tumour and liquid biopsies, in a single workflow.
- Custom Panel design – Cost-effective and expertly targeted panel design with NGS for human or animal research to ensure maximum coverage and sensitivity.
