Informed Genomics scoops award for Innovation in Healthcare
10th May 2024, Birmingham – Informed Genomics, a UK-based genomic testing laboratory providing innovative cancer testing services and accredited solutions to the NHS and private sector, has been highly commended for Delivering Innovation in Health and Care.
The award was presented at the 2024 Medilink Midlands Business Awards ceremony in Leicester last night, which showcased the innovation and excellence in the life sciences and medtech sectors. The awards, now in their 20th year, specifically highlight the best of collaborations between industry, academia, and the NHS across the Midlands.
In the past year, Informed Genomics has seen huge growth in demand for its services, including the UKAS-accredited Hereditary Cancer Susceptibility Service, and created new partnerships across public and private health sectors. The Quinton-based genomics solutions provider is now the only private laboratory working with the NHS to deliver BRCA1 and BRCA2 in support of the NHS Jewish BRCA Testing Programme.
Simon Davis, CEO at Informed Genomics, said of the win: “It is fantastic to be recognised for this award amongst such prestigious and stiff competition. This is a win for the whole team who work tirelessly to deliver the highest standards of genomic testing for our customers across the NHS and private sectors. It is an exciting time for us as a business and we are looking forward to further success this year and beyond, transforming healthcare journeys for more patients through accurate and fast genomic testing.”
Melanie Davidson, Chief Executive of Medilink Midlands, says: “The standard of entries this year has been exceptional, with a record number of submissions received. Our independent judging panel has been truly impressed by the excellence of Midlands life science companies and the level of innovation demonstrated by our entrants.”
